Innovative V-Process Casting Technology by Qingdao Xinke Machinery

V-process Casting, the third generation of physical molding method after the mechanical molding method and the chemical molding method, was originated in Japan in 1969. This method has the advantages of simplified mold making with unbonded sand, high dimensional precision in casting, easy peeling and high return rate of sand at 95% etc. After several decades of development, it becomes a mature technology.

Modeling principle :

Heated plastic film covering the model and pattern plate by vacuum pressure, filling dry sand with non-bonding agent in flask, then sealing top surface of sand mold with a plastic film seal, vacuuming, after compaction, stripper, mould assembly, pouring, until the solidification is cast iron.

Mainly applies to the production, such as cast iron, cast steel, non-ferrous metal castings production, especially in large and medium-sized production of fine, thin-walled.Taking into account economic and technological conditions for production of casting restrictions, most suitable for production of bulk and relatively simple large structure.

1.Because the model surface is coated by film, without vibration or knocking when stripping, and at the same time the effect of pressure by vaccum, so the sand mould is high hardness and uniform, molten metal with good fluidity. So that Castings are of high size precision, clarity of outline, smooth surface.

2.Foundry sand without binder, water and additives, simplified sand preparation process , as long as separating flasks and canceling vacuum, the sand will be collapsibility itself. It is not like resin sand, water glass molding method, sand regeneration after the crushing need to reuse.

3.Cleaning of castings is easy and of low labor intensity, most of the harmful gas in the process of casting is siphoned off by vacuum system, easy to green working conditions.

4.It needs fewer operators and has high production efficiency, be easy to implement automatic production line and low requirement for worker’s skill level.

Process of Vacuum molding line, mainly including covering membrane (on the face of pattern), painting, feeding sand, vibrating for compaction, covering back membrane, drawing flask process.

Because of internal and external pressures, the v-process process ensures the strength of the casting and maintains a clear cavity shape and outline.   

Therefore, regardless of the model or in the casting process, pressure difference must being kept within a certain range is the key to v-process.    

Every process of vacuum molding line is different for vacuum requirement.
